(Special Dispatch to The Journal.)

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga., July 22. At 11 o'clock this morning, Dr. D. Compton and Dr. Thomas M. Hall, physicians attending Leo M. Frank, issued the following bulletin:

"Leo Frank's condition continues to improve. His temperature is now 99 4-5. Unless there is some change for the worse, which is not apprehended, further official statements will not be issued."

William Creen, the assailant of Frank, has denied himself to all visitors since he talked with The Journal correspondent yesterday.

Mrs. Frank continues to spend practically all of her time at her husband's bedside.

### His Former Attorney Says Creen Is Crazy

(Special Dispatch to The Journal.)

LEXINGTON, Ky., July 22. Thomas Shanks, an attorney of Columbus, Ga., who is at Lebanon, Ky., with relatives, declares there is no doubt that William Creen, assailant of Leo M. Frank, is insane and has been for years. Shanks says he defended Creen when he was charged with a murder committed at Columbus in 1913, and that Creen became angry because a man laughed at him and killed him, after Shanks had been appointed by the court to defend Creen. Creen refused to confer and sat uncommunicative in his cell, which fact, Shanks says he reported to court. Shanks says Creen was injured on the head several years ago while working on a construction gang and that the wound left a deep indentation in his skull.
